1000 Words is a word-based puzzle game inspired by ancient Greece. A young apprentice under Xerxes is given a chance to escape his humble life and chase riches and fame by facing off against legendary heroes and deities. The gameplay revolves around anagrams. Each round begins with a set of six mixed letters, from which players must form words of varying lengths. Players select letters using an arrow-shaped cursor. When a word is successfully created, points are added, a progress meter fills, and fresh letters appear on the tablet. In addition to the story-driven campaign, the three main game modes can also be accessed in Quickplay: Classical: discover as many words of different lengths as possible before time runs out. 6-Letter Challenge: solve the six-letter word within a limited number of attempts. Evolution: form words of a specific length before the clock hits zero. During gameplay, players can collect bonuses that grant extra time, pause the timer, suggest a word, or rearrange the letters. Players may also face penalties from their opponent, such as draining the bonus meter, flipping the letters, or concealing them. Bonuses are unlocked by solving the six-letter word repeatedly, while penalties are triggered when word creation takes too long. Each mode features a high score leaderboard and a tutorial that outlines the fundamentals. The game includes sound effects and background music, a map showing progress in the quest mode, and introductory screens where opponents share motivational tips.
