Summary

Izumi Tsubasu x Palette 14th project. 9-nine- Episode 1 is the first installment in a series of supernatural mystery games, with Episode 1 featuring a story centered on Miyako Kujo. The 9-nine- series takes place in the same world and setting, but each game follows a different heroine. 9-nine- is set in the town of Shiromitsugawa, home to enigmatic Artifacts that grant special abilities to those who wield them. It's a story of deepening bonds and developing romance between the protagonist and his partner, as well as a gripping murder mystery that follows their quest to uncover the truth behind a string of otherworldly killings. Each title in the series has its own self-contained narrative that can be enjoyed individually.

Storyline

Shiromitsugawa is a typical college town that has tried—and failed—numerous times to boost its tourism and rejuvenate its economy, even going so far as funding a high-budget but poorly executed anime inspired by local legends. Now, a storm is on the horizon, both literally and figuratively. Kakeru Niimi is a man who can come off as short-tempered but is ultimately driven by a deep sense of duty and a warm heart. His mundane routine is upended when the sacred artifact at the local shrine is destroyed. In the aftermath, a group of young people begin to manifest extraordinary powers. What was once a quiet life in an unremarkable town quickly becomes a desperate mission to stop a powerful serial killer before they can carry out their next attack.
