Summary

A Nightmare on Elm Street is an action game inspired by the film of the same name, in which the player must rescue their friends from the clutches of the sinister Freddy Krueger. Break into Freddy's house on Elm Street, step into the Nightmare World, and battle him using special powers—or perish in the attempt! Before the game starts, the player must choose one of five available characters in an effort to save Joey, who, as shown on the selection screen, has already been taken by Freddy. If the player takes too long to decide, Freddy will capture a random character until only one remains. Choose quickly! Once a character is selected, the rest are considered captured by Freddy and must be saved as well. Each character has a unique Soul meter and Power gauge, along with special abilities. Soul indicates the player's health, and if it depletes, the character dies. Power is consumed each time a special ability is used.
