Airline Pilots is a flight simulation game launched for the Sega NAOMI arcade system in 1999. The title lets players experience piloting a Boeing 777 aircraft, developed with guidance from engineers and pilots at Japan Airlines. Two distinct cabinet versions were produced. The standard model is a conventional seated cabinet with a single screen, whereas the "DX type" model includes three 29" monitors arranged side-by-side to envelop the player in a cockpit-like environment. Due to the game's challenging nature and limited appeal for realistic flight simulations, Sega released a conversion kit enabling arcade operators to transform the machines into the more popular Sega Strike Fighter. Consequently, Airline Pilots arcade units are now quite rare.
