Summary

Alien Swarm is a game and Source SDK release created by a team of skilled designers at Valve, originally recruited from the Mod community. Available at no cost, the game throws players into an intense bug-hunting experience that combines cooperative gameplay with squad-based tactics. Team up with friends to form a squad of four unique IAF Marine classes. Strategize your assault using a customizable arsenal of weapons with endless loadout options, facing off against a diverse array of alien threats. Fight your way through an overrun off-world colony, eliminating the alien infestation across varied environments—from the frozen surface of the planet to a subterranean mining complex flooded with lava. In addition to the game, you'll receive the full code base for Alien Swarm, which includes updates to the Source engine and the SDK. Alien Swarm introduces a third-person camera, depth of field effects, enhanced dynamic shadows, and numerous gameplay improvements to the Source engine.
