Summary

Alien vs. Predator is a 1994 side-scrolling beat 'em up video game created and published by Capcom for the CPS-2 arcade platform. Based on the science fiction franchise of the same name, the game features an original character, Lt. Kurosawa, and allows players to control up to three of four available cyborg and Predator fighters as they battle waves of Xenomorphs and renegade human troops.

Storyline

San Drad, California, has fallen under the control of the Aliens, and the cybernetically-augmented Major Dutch Schaefer and Lieutenant Linn Kurosawa find themselves cut off from their command and surrounded by a horde of Alien drones. Just as death seems inevitable, two Predators arrive and eliminate the threat. Seeking to end the Alien invasion, the Predators propose a partnership with the two surviving humans. Players can take control of up to three of four playable characters: Dutch, Linn, a Predator hunter, and a Predator warrior, as they fight through various locations to defeat the Aliens. Along the way, they uncover the truth behind the Alien invasion—an experiment orchestrated by renegade General Bush of the U.S. Colonial Marines in collaboration with the Weyland-Yutani corporation. The team ultimately eradicates the Alien hive by crashing a military vessel into San Drad, triggering a massive explosion. In honor of their combat prowess, the Predator warrior presents Dutch and Linn with his wrist blades before the Predators return to the stars.
