Summary
All-Star Baseball 99 is the first portable installment in the All-Star Baseball series and stands apart from its N64 version.
The game offers six distinct modes: exhibition matches, a complete season (either all 162 games of the 1998 campaign or shorter options), the '97 playoffs, the '97 All-Star Game, the Home Run Derby, and a batting practice mode. In season and playoff play, progress is tracked using passwords.
On the diamond, players manage pitching, fielding, and batting, with the ability to bunt or swing. The game also lets players customize team lineups and assign positions.
All 30 MLB teams from the 1998 season are featured, including the expansion clubs Arizona and Tampa Bay.
