Summary
Amplitude is a reimagining of the critically praised controller-driven rhythm action game created by Harmonix and first launched in 2003. Amplitude includes more than 20 original tracks crafted by Harmonix for the best beat-matching gameplay, with additional input from Freezepop, Danny B, Jim Guthrie, and others. Many of the original game’s developers are involved in bringing the reboot to life. The new Amplitude is being presented as a classic, futuristic concept album. A story weaves through the experience, emerging in the visuals, music, and lyrics of the songs. Players will race along long, twisting paths composed of the various musical components of each track. Each song is defined by its unique blend of synths, drums, vocals, and bass. As players destroy sequences of gems on these tracks, they unleash musical energy and reconstruct the hidden composition within. The gameplay stays simple to learn but tough to perfect. Reaching the highest scores will be a true test of skill, making it something to celebrate on online leaderboards. Amplitude supports up to four players in local multiplayer. Challenge your friends and unleash powerful boosts during high-energy matches to climb to the top of the rankings.
Storyline
In 2112, nanotechnologists at the Applied Meta-Prionics Limbic Tuning Department develop organic machines designed to be implanted into the human brain, granting access to both tangible and intangible secrets hidden within. Seeking to trigger synesthesia—a rare ability one of the technologists possesses—Mari activates a new wave of bots to enter her mind and awaken this heightened sensory perception. The flood of sights and sounds, however, proves too intense, and tragically, Mari’s brain ceases to function. You will use the AMPLITUDE Operating System to enter Mari’s memories, sensations, and emotions. There, you must destroy the mental barriers her brain has formed around these synesthetic experiences to restore her to life.
