Assassin's Creed: Bloodsail was a proposed 3D action RPG for mobile devices, developed by Ubisoft China in collaboration with VGame Studios, targeting the Chinese audience. It was first revealed at the ChinaJoy 2016 event, but due to a lack of subsequent news, it became known as vaporware, with no official confirmation of cancellation. The main character was intended to be a pirate set during the Golden Age of Piracy in the Caribbean, traveling through key cities such as Havana and Nassau while interacting with familiar faces from Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. The game was to include naval combat, along with both player-versus-environment and player-versus-player gameplay. The hero was also meant to be the sole survivor of a Mayan family, driven by a mission of vengeance. This journey would lead the protagonist to the Caribbean Sea, where they would search for lost relatives and uncover the truth behind their family's tragic fate. An open beta was scheduled to launch in China in March 2017. At one point, there was talk of a potential Western release. However, by July of the same year, it was reported that the beta had never actually launched and had supposedly been delayed until 2018. Since then, no further information about the game has been released.
