Assassin's Creed: Project Legacy was a Facebook-based game that launched on September 30, 2010, featuring the "Italian Wars" memory pack. In the game, players joined Abstergo Industries' Project Legacy as trainees, using a device called the DDS (Data Dump Scanner) to experience the genetic memories of others. The DDS likely functioned similarly to an Animus, but with the added ability to access the memories of individuals who were not the player's direct ancestors. A total of three memory packs were released: "Italian Wars," "Rome" (launched November 15, 2010), and "Holidays" (launched December 22, 2010). A fourth pack, Divine Science, was made available by Erudito on July 4, 2011, outside of the DDS system, though the DDS interface still listed it as "coming soon." On May 15, 2013, Facebook removed the game for violating their Terms of Service for Facebook apps, as it had not been updated in a long time. It remains uncertain whether the game will ever return.
