River Raids is a free content update for *Assassin's Creed: Valhalla*. Included in Title Update 1.1.2, the update introduces a new, replayable river raiding mode, expanding on the base game’s existing raiding system. It features three unique river maps for exploration: the River Exe, the River Severn, and the River Dee. Alongside these, the update also brings new quests, as well as a set of armor and a weapon that can be earned through the new areas. A subsequent update, released alongside the Ostara Season content, added a second armor set for players to collect. A third update, launched on September 7, 2021, introduced three more rivers—River Erriff, River Berbha, and River Rhine—each with new questlines that allow players to obtain Lugh's Spear and the Ulfberht Sword.
It begins with the building of the River Incursions Dock, where we enlist specific Jomsvikings for these river journeys. Vagn, a dark-skinned Viking, serves as our guide in this expansion. We selected one of the six rivers on the map and set off on our mission. The new maps are all centered around river systems, featuring winding main channels with islands and connecting side branches. Along the riverbanks, you'll find civilian villages, military outposts, monasteries, and druid encampments. Each of these locations presents unique challenges and rewards. The rivers include the River Exe, River Severn, River Dee, River Erriff, River Berbha, and my personal favorite: the River Rhine (located in France, it features a massive city that really impressed me!).
