Summary

Barotrauma is a 2D online multiplayer game set inside a submarine navigating the frigid depths of Jupiter's moon Europa. The immense pressure outside, the bizarre sea creatures lurking in the dark, and the hazardous machinery aboard mean that even a small mistake can quickly spiral into a frantic battle to stay alive. The game draws heavy inspiration from Space Station 13 and the concept of Pressure.

Storyline

Barotrauma is set several centuries ahead, in a future where humanity has begun to colonize Europa, one of Jupiter's moons. Because of the intense radiation on the moon's surface, all settlements are built beneath the thick ice layer. The massive ocean hidden beneath the ice serves as both a transportation network between the colonies and a valuable resource. In Barotrauma, players take on the role of a new recruit aboard a submarine navigating this deep ocean. The main objective is to keep the sub running smoothly while completing missions to earn money for supplies and new crew members. However, maintaining the submarine is only part of the challenge—danger lurks in the form of strange and terrifying sea creatures, from tiny, harmless fish to massive beasts capable of tearing the sub apart.
