The Engine has no shortage of shooters, so to succeed, a game must carve out its own identity. Barunba attempts to inject a touch of originality in a quiet but distinctive way. You pilot a floating orb — complete with a tiny figure inside — surrounded by a rotating ring of weapons. This ring can be turned 360 degrees around your ship, allowing full control over your firing direction — a handy feature when dealing with enemies sneaking up from behind. Right from the beginning, you're armed with multiple weapon types, each of which can be temporarily enhanced by collecting power-ups dropped by defeated foes. The levels automatically scroll in all directions, featuring both mid-level and final bosses. Your ship's energy is displayed in a bar at the bottom left of the screen, and when it runs out, it's 'Game Over'.
