Battlemaster

Summary

Battlemaster is a fantasy arcade adventure set in a realm of legend and feudal conflict. The land lies in ruin: scattered villages, towns, and castles are separated by wild, monster-ridden expanses. Your mission is to bring peace by conquering the four kingdoms and presenting their crowns to the Watcher who resides in the Tower. The player chooses a race—Human, Orc, Dwarf, or Elf—each with unique advantages and drawbacks. The goal is to clear out enemy forces from regions and collect items that boost your character and allies' abilities. Numerous traps lie in wait, and death is ever-present in a game many will find extremely challenging. Gameplay for the leader is fast-paced, with a menu offering options to Parley, Travel, Rally Troops, adjust formations, or use items. The leader engages enemies using Melee and Projectile commands. Some character classes depend more on teamwork than others. The "Parley" option lets you purchase (but not sell) items or acquire a Safe Pass to skip a section.

Storyline

The world was trapped in a brutal war. Humans doubted Dwarves, Dwarves loathed Elves, Elves scorned Orcs, and Orcs harbored hatred for all. Rivers carried the crimson tide of battle, and the earth reeked of nothing but death. Society was crumbling into ruin. AND THEN CAME THE WATCHER. He foretold that a leader would rise from the south. A leader bold enough to confront dragons and live, wise enough to unravel the deepest mysteries, and seasoned enough to know when to negotiate and when to strike. He would be one who understands magic, who wields cunning strategy, and who will trade, plunder, and bargain with a single purpose: to assemble a mighty army, reclaim the four royal crowns, and bring peace to a broken world. The Watcher has set his challenge. Will you accept it?
