Beyond Divinity

Summary

You were a follower of the Divine, a warrior of light engaged in an endless struggle against darkness. But destiny has betrayed you. In the midst of a climactic battle against a formidable necromancer, a sinister daemon named Samuel deceived you and pulled you into his realm. There, you were ensnared and tormented. Like many daemonic overlords, he possessed a cruel, twisted sense of humor, and so he bound your soul to that of a Deathknight. Now you are cursed to spend eternity shackled to the very creature you spent your life opposing. Together, you must find a way to break free from your prison and undo this terrible curse.

Storyline

The story of Beyond Divinity is set 20 years after the events of the original game. You play as a servant of the Divine One, a paladin who despises and pursues necromancers. In a fierce confrontation with a particularly wicked necromancer, the paladin is seized by a demon named Samuel and pulled into a different realm, where his soul is bound to that of a death-knight, a being of darkness. Now, the paladin and the death-knight must journey together to find a way to sever that bond. Success means reclaiming the path you once chose. Failure means being forever tied to the very evil you once fought against.
