You take control of the "Big Nose" character, a caveman sprinting across multiple islands in search of his next meal, driven by intense hunger. As he journeys through, Big Nose gathers bones, which he can trade at different shops for spells, ability upgrades, and useful items. The game is notoriously challenging, as you must start over from the beginning once all your lives are lost. It's also quite lengthy, featuring four distinct islands—Paradise Island, Monster Island, Terror Island, and Chaos Island—each with multiple levels. Big Nose the Caveman can be defeated in one hit unless he has stones. These stones can be launched from his club to eliminate enemies, with up to three firing at once. Numerous pitfalls, traps, and deadly lava or water hazards await, as Big Nose is unable to swim. It was succeeded by a sequel in 1992. A Master System and Game Gear version titled Dinobasher was developed but never released.
A very long time ago (though not necessarily in a galaxy far, far away), there lived a caveman named Big Nose. One day, he stepped out of his cave and spotted a pterodactyl soaring overhead. "That will be my dinner," Big Nose thought, grabbed his reliable club, and chased after the flying reptile. Of course, his hunt for food turned out to be far more challenging and perilous than he could have ever imagined...
