The Machine Age dawns in the immersive, atmospheric squad-based shooter Binary Domain. Take back a futuristic Tokyo from a rising robotic menace in the year 2080. The story begins as Dan Marshall and his team are deployed to contain a growing robotic presence that is infiltrating society, subtly taking control without detection, rendering humans obsolete in its path. As they battle through the decaying underbelly of the city, players lead an international peacekeeping unit that soon finds itself questioning its environment and the decisions it must make. Are the robots evolving into something human, or are humans becoming more like the machines? Intense confrontations with these advanced robotic foes demand tactical thinking, tough real-time moral choices, and the development of trust among your team members to ensure the squad’s survival and mission success.
In the final decades of the 20th century, rising global temperatures swallow 75% of the world's livable land, compelling humanity to construct towering cities above the submerged ruins of the past. But the floods have taken more than just territory. Millions have perished, leaving the human labor force drastically diminished and prompting the development of a robotic workforce to fill the void. To regulate the treatment of these machines, the United Nations establishes the "New Geneva Convention," which includes Clause 21—a law that bans the creation of robots capable of mimicking humans, a classification the public has come to call "hollow children." To ensure compliance with Clause 21, the UN forms specialized R.U.S.T units. When a hollow child infiltrates the headquarters of the robotics firm Bergen, having just learned the truth about his artificial nature after a lifetime of believing himself human, the UN immediately suspects the Amada Corporation of his creation. In response, a R.U.S.T team is sent to extract Amada's CEO and bring him before the UN Security Council for answers.
