From the opening Face-Off, it's six-on-six pro-style hockey at its finest. Choose from eight elite teams to lead: Los Angeles, New York, Vancouver, Montreal, Edmonton, Minnesota, Toronto, and Chicago. Compete against a friend or take on a highly skilled computer team. Three difficulty levels—Junior, College, and Pro—let you tailor the challenge to your skill. Throughout the game, you'll face every high-stakes element of championship hockey, from nail-biting Penalty and Overtime sequences to explosive Knockout Smash-Hit Fight Scenes. To succeed, you'll need speed, strength, agility, and instinct—especially when tensions rise, gloves come off, and fists fly. This is hard-hitting action at its most intense. You'll quickly learn that in this league, nothing is handed to you—goals must be earned. You must master both the graceful finesse of a skilled player and the raw power of an enforcer. Versatility is key, as you'll need to expertly control your forwards, centers, defensemen, and even the goalie, who must hold the fort during relentless Power Plays—triggered when you lose a fight and find yourself banished to the Penalty Box.
