Gearbox returns players to the chaotic universe of Borderlands with a high-octane shooter-adventure sequel that delivers fast-paced combat and deep character customization. This first-person action unfolds in the lawless corners of Pandora, five years after the original game, as the power-hungry Handsome Jack organizes brutal gladiator-style battles to control the local population. Players can pick from four brand-new character classes, each offering three unique development paths within the game’s RPG-inspired progression system. Gaining experience is earned through defeating enemies and completing missions. Building on the foundation of the first game, Borderlands 2 features a dynamic weapon system that generates millions of unique, randomized firearms, along with shields and gear upgrades. The game's NPCs show more personality, and player choices have a greater impact on the world. While retaining the gritty desert landscapes of the first game, the sequel introduces several new zones on Pandora, including a deadly frozen wasteland where the vengeful story arc takes root. The co-op mode supports up to two players, allowing a second participant to join or leave a session at any time, whether online, over a local network, or in split-screen mode. The "Deluxe Vault Hunter's Collectors Edition" includes the full game, an official Marcus Kincaid bobblehead, a hardcover art book, a set of four collectible stickers, a detailed map of Pandora, and digital DLC content such as a comic.
