Summary

Box Boy! is a platform game where players guide a box-shaped character named Qbby through a series of levels. The game’s core mechanics revolve around Qbby’s unique ability to generate boxes from his body, with the quantity changing from level to level. These boxes can expand in any direction to form different shapes and can be either carried, thrown, or pushed. They serve multiple purposes, such as helping players reach elevated platforms, bridge wide gaps, activate switches, or shield against harmful lasers. Moreover, by attaching a box to a ledge while still connected to Qbby, players can use it to hoist themselves upward. Each level contains one or more crowns that can be collected through skillful play, though they disappear if the player uses an excessive number of boxes in a single level. Collecting these crowns unlocks new worlds as the game progresses. Medals earned by completing levels can be used to purchase extras like costumes, technique guides, and bonus stages.
