Break Street is a breakdancing game where you start by selecting one of four available dancers, including the two-man team "Double Trouble." The warm-up mode lets you try out different dance moves. Moves are activated using joystick directions and the fire button, ranging from basic moves like the moonwalk to more advanced ones like the head spin. The game offers a good variety of moves, thanks to the same joystick inputs producing different actions depending on whether you're standing or on the floor. In the main game, you have a set time limit to perform moves and accumulate points. An energy bar on the left side of the screen decreases as you perform more difficult moves. To recover energy, you can do simpler moves like uprock or the moonwalk, while complex floor moves drain energy quickly. When your energy is nearly depleted, your character turns red, signaling you to switch to a less intense move. If the energy bar runs out completely, your performance ends and your dancer is labeled as "beached out." Additionally, failing a difficult move causes your character to sit and cry, ending your round.
