Bruce Jenner's World Class Decathlon is a reimagining of the original 8-bit computer classic, Daley Thompson's Decathlon. Unlike many repetitive button-mashing titles, such as those from Epyx, this game emphasizes a detailed stats system and long-term career progression. As time moves forward through the seasons, players evolve from newcomers to elite athletes by allocating skill points to crucial disciplines like throwing, running, and jumping. However, stamina remains the most critical factor. Since the decathlon consists of five grueling events each day, pushing too hard in the early stages can lead to exhaustion, causing the player's character to struggle in the 400 m (on day one) and the 1500 m (on day two) races.
