Summary

Burnout Dominator is a title in the Burnout series, developed for the PlayStation 2 and PlayStation Portable. The game highlights the return of the Burnout feature, which allows players to deplete their full boost meter without stopping—last seen in Burnout 2: Point of Impact. Along with the return of Burnouts, the game introduces four new modes. In Maniac Mode, players must drive recklessly to achieve the highest scores by performing drifts, air tricks, oncoming collisions, and near misses. Chaining Burnouts in this mode boosts the score multiplier. Drift Challenge requires players to accumulate as much drifting distance as possible, with Burnout chaining again increasing the multiplier. Near Miss Challenge functions similarly to Drift Challenge, but the focus is on earning near miss bonuses. Burnout Challenge is the same in structure but emphasizes scoring through Burnouts. However, some features from previous games were omitted, such as Crash Mode, Traffic Checking Mode, and Online Multiplayer. The PSP version includes Burnout HQ, where players can upload their scores and download new tracks. The game features 12 tracks across eight real-world locations, with each track offering both forward and reverse layouts.
