Summary

Following in the footsteps of the Bust-A-Move series, Taito’s Bust-A-Move '99 is a classic puzzle game. The primary goal is to eliminate or remove (by dropping) all the bubbles on the stage. Once you accomplish this, you’ll advance to the next level. While the concept may seem straightforward, the strategy and execution are more complex. Using a "bubble shooter," you must aim and fire your bubbles to the top of the screen in order to form groups of three or more bubbles of the same color. When this happens, the bubbles burst. One way to score points is to cause the bursting bubbles—and the one you shot—to fall off the screen (in multiplayer, they land on your opponent’s side). This also reduces the number of bubbles you have to manage. Bubbles continuously fall from the top. Clearing them all quickly is essential, as the longer you take, the faster they descend. If you fail to eliminate all the bubbles and they reach the bottom of the screen, the game ends. Bust-A-Move '99 introduces new features not seen in previous entries in the series. These include special bubbles (such as star, metal, and rainbow), obstructive bubbles and blocks, and new background designs. Additionally, players can use the create-a-level editor to design their own custom stages.
