Carmageddon 64 was a version of Carmageddon II, launched for the Nintendo 64 console in the year 2000. It was created by Software Creations and originally set to be released by Interplay. However, after Titus Entertainment acquired the company, they took over as the publisher. The game included enemies and stages from Carmageddon II, along with a few unique characters not found elsewhere.
In 2026, solar flares poisoned the Earth's atmosphere, and prolonged exposure to the toxic air turned people into zombies. Survivors sought shelter in hastily built Climate Emulation Centers, and while they were safe, some grew bored. These adrenaline junkies began racing on the abandoned circuits of the outside world,毫不在意 if they ran over zombies that strayed into their path. The authorities recognized that the racers had accidentally discovered an entertaining way to deal with the zombie threat, and offered the drivers a chance to live in the sun on a distant off-world colony—kinds of places even wealthy playboys would find hard to access. With such an incredible prize on the line and no officials controlling the races, the events quickly turned deadly. Every competitor had to remember: "Drive to Survive."
