Chinese Hero is an arcade action title created by Nihon Game, which later became Culture Brain, and published by Taiyo System in October 1984. It marks the beginning of the Super Chinese series from Culture Brain. The game was adapted for the Nintendo Entertainment System in Japan as Kung Fu Heroes by Nihon Game in 1986 and later launched in North America in 1989. Kung Fu Heroes uses an overhead perspective and allows up to two players to participate at the same time. It is a faithful adaptation of the original arcade version of Chinese Hero, developed by Nihon Game during its time in the arcade game industry. Unlike other entries in the series, Kung Fu Heroes for the NES is a direct port of Chinese Hero and does not include any role-playing game mechanics in its gameplay.
