Crying Suns is a tactical rogue-lite where you take command of a space fleet and venture through the remnants of a mysteriously collapsed empire. Set in a narrative-driven universe inspired by Dune and Foundation, every successful mission brings you closer to uncovering the Empire’s secrets—and the truth about who you really are.

Storyline

For seven centuries, the Galactic Empire thrived in peace and abundance, until it was suddenly torn apart. The OMNIs, godlike machines that once served and sustained their human masters, have inexplicably powered down. Humanity, having grown entirely dependent on these machines, now teeters on the brink of extinction. Yet, deep in a remote corner of the galaxy lies Gehenna—a frozen, rocky world home to a classified Imperial facility representing the peak of technological achievement and the final hope for humankind. You are a clone of Admiral Ellys Idaho, a living weapon, the greatest Imperial Admiral to ever command fleets among the stars. You’ve just been revived on this desolate world by Kaliban, Gehenna’s enigmatic and sardonic Guardian, the last OMNI still functioning. Your mission: expertly lead a battleship through the Empire’s fractured and war-torn sectors—where a single mistake could mean your end—as you strive to restore the OMNIs and secure humanity’s future. But you must depart Gehenna immediately… time is running out.
