Summary

The concept in Cyberbots is reminiscent of Armored Warriors, though it limits the number of playable characters on screen to a maximum of two instead of three. Cyberbots stands out as a highly creative game, thanks to the wide range of customizable options, components, and mecha that allow players to tailor their gameplay to their preferred style. Much like the Armored Core series, players can swap between different legs (which influence mobility), arms (which impact reach and close combat abilities), and weapons across the available robots. The gameplay in Cyberbots aligns with other fighting games developed by Capcom, offering a moderate set of commands for executing a variety of attacks for each robot. Combat is structured as one-on-one duels, where players battle against the computer to advance to the next match.

Storyline

At the close of the 21st century, humanity has pushed past the boundaries of Earth and begun to settle the far reaches of space. Standing at the forefront of Earth’s defense and protecting the colonies is the Earth Force, a military force composed of massive mechs and elite pilots who command them. Now, choose one of six distinct characters and one of twelve powerful, unique mechs, and battle it out in classic 2D action! As you emerge victorious in combat, enhance and tailor your mech with new components and weapons, while uncovering the secrets behind Earth Force and its sinister experiments. The outcomes of these operations, along with your own actions, will shape the destiny of Earth!
