Daisenpuu Custom is essentially a remixed edition of the HuCard game originally launched in 1989. It is based on the arcade shooter of the same name, developed by Taito/Toaplan in 1987 (also referred to as Twin Hawk). In the game, players pilot a World War II-era fighter plane, battling through a wide variety of enemy defenses, including tanks, submarines, and warships (interestingly, enemy aircraft are absent). The player's plane is equipped with a standard Vulcan gun and a special, limited-use bomb attack. When activated, this ability summons a group of allied planes that will fire continuously until they are destroyed. Hitting the bomb button a second time unleashes a powerful smart-bomb that clears most enemies from the screen. A standard power-up system enhances the plane’s capabilities throughout the game—destroying small trucks typically releases power icons. Some of these, marked with a large "P," can upgrade the main gun up to four levels, while others grant additional bombs or the rare chance to earn extra lives.
