Summary

Dead or Alive 4 is a combat game and the fourth main entry in the Dead or Alive video game series, continuing the storyline from the 2001 release Dead or Alive 3. Dead or Alive 4 includes 22 playable fighters and offers a variety of multi-layered, interactive battle stages. The game introduces several improvements over its predecessors. Each character's set of moves has been significantly revised, and four brand-new fighters join the lineup, alongside the return of a few familiar faces. The counter system has been refined, with a reduced and more challenging counter window, and the damage dealt by counters has been adjusted.

Storyline

Dead or Alive 4 centers on Helena Douglas as she assumes the role of the second chairman of the Dead or Alive Tournament Executive Committee, vowing to confront the corruption that has plagued the organization. After her father and mother were lost to the shadows of a sinister conspiracy, Helena steps into the eye of the storm, determined to break the cycle of tragedy forever. Behind the scenes at Doatec, the real power broker, Victor Donovan, has once again retreated into the Bio Lab Core to pursue his vision of crafting the ultimate human weapon. His latest endeavor, codenamed "Alpha-152," is a groundbreaking achievement in hyper-cloning technology, derived from a DNA sample of Kasumi. The ongoing conflict between Doatec and the Mugen Tenshin Ninja Clan takes a new turn in the main storyline. Following Ayane’s victory over Doatec’s final creation, Omega, Hayate returns to the Mugen Tenshin clan and assumes its leadership. Fueled by a burning thirst for vengeance, he sets out on a mission to destroy Doatec once and for all. During the fourth tournament, Hayate assembles the most formidable team of ninjas ever seen. He is joined by Ayane, Ryu Hayabusa, and other elite members of the Mugen Tenshin clan. Kasumi, despite her hesitations, finds herself drawn into the conflict as she follows her brother’s path.
