Summary

At first, Starfy was carrying items around Pufftop Palace when he stumbled and let go of what he was holding. One of the objects tumbled into the ocean—the Magic Jar, a powerful item that contains the evil entity known as Ogura.

Storyline

Far beyond the endless ocean lies a floating kingdom above the clouds known as Pufftop. In this land lives Starfy, the carefree and clumsy prince of Pufftop. Life had always been peaceful in Pufftop until one day when Starfy, carrying a precious treasure, accidentally dropped a jar into the sea. The creature trapped inside unleashed powerful magic, summoning a violent storm. Tornadoes raged through the Pufftop Palace, and Starfy, struggling to stay afloat, was eventually swept into the ocean, striking his signature "Done For" pose. He tumbled all the way to Lobber’s Cave on a tiny island. Inside the cave, a wise old lobster named Old Man Lobber discovered Starfy and asked if he could hear him. Reassured that Starfy was unharmed, Old Man Lobber suggested he rest in the cave to recover from the storm. Concerned about Starfy’s weakness, he considered what to do, as the prince couldn’t return to Pufftop in his current state. Old Man Lobber mentioned a friend, Herman, and Starfy set off to find him. Starfy found Herman wearing a plain gray shell, having lost his home—the Pretty Shell. Herman asked Starfy to help him find it. After retrieving a Kettle, Herman, thinking it might have drifted further, gave Starfy a key to access another area. There, Starfy discovered a tusk shell known as the Dentalium Shell. Herman, still unsatisfied with its size, believed it might be hidden behind some rocks. He then taught Starfy how to perform the Star Spin attack. Eventually, Starfy located the colorful conch shell and returned it to Herman. Grateful for Starfy’s help, Herman led him to the next area: the Coral Reef.
