Summary
Devilman is a side-scrolling platform action and adventure game inspired by Go Nagai's Devilman.
Storyline
The game follows the manga's storyline. You begin as Akira Fudo, the boy who can transform into Devilman. You explore the town, entering buildings and interacting with the people inside. When you locate your friend Ryo, he takes you to a basement where you transform into Devilman and fight waves of girls who turn into demons. If you survive, you return to the town. While conversing with townspeople, you can boost your energy by defeating the monsters that lurk outside. You can switch between Akira and Devilman by pressing select and choosing to transform up or down. Killing enemies as Akira increases your power while in Devilman form. This power lets you launch fireballs by pressing punch, though each use drains your power (shown as Devilman heads). If you visit Akira's friend Miki Makamura (posing as Akira), she will restore your energy. At one point in the game, you take control of Miki. Later, you can use Devilman's wings to fly to the mountains or the forest. There, you must locate and rescue (or leave, if you choose) the humans captured by demons.
