Storyline

Players take on the roles of Takumi Aiba or Ami Aiba, male and female Japanese amateur hackers. They are given a device known as a Digimon Capture by an enigmatic stranger in an online chat room, enabling them to capture and form bonds with Digimon—beings that reside in a next-generation version of the internet called Cyberspace Eden, a realm users can physically access. After descending into the deepest layers of Eden, they are ambushed by a data-based creature known as an "Eater," which partially digitizes their bodies, granting them the ability to move freely between the real world and the virtual world through terminals. They are then approached by Kyoko Kuremi, leader of the Kuremi Detective Agency, who enlists them into the agency's cyber division.
