Disgaea 2: Cursed Memories is a tactical role-playing game and the follow-up to Disgaea: Hour of Darkness. It was later released for the PlayStation Portable under the title Disgaea 2 Portable in Japan and as Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days in North America and Europe. Fifteen years ago, a powerful Overlord named Zenon arrived in Veldime and placed a curse on its human inhabitants. Since that time, all residents have transformed into demons and will remain so unless the curse is lifted. A young man named Adell is the only human who remained unaffected by the curse. Determined to save his family and restore them to their original forms, Adell sets out to confront Overlord Zenon and put an end to his reign. The gameplay in Disgaea 2 expands directly from that of Disgaea: Hour of Darkness, with players commanding a team of characters in battles on a 3D isometric grid.
You are Adell a young man and the last human in the quiet town of Holt as Overlord Zenon slowly transforms the townspeople into demons and erases their memories. In your quest to confront Zenon directly you encounter a variety of intriguing allies. A failed summoning ritual accidentally calls forth Rozalin the daughter of Overlord Zenon and links her to you. Her loyal servant Tink was transformed into a frog and now seeks vengeance. Your siblings Taro and Hanako join you on your journey. In the Colosseum you meet the ninja Yukimaru who agrees to fight alongside you to defeat Overlord Zenon. Lastly you accidentally reduce the powerful Demon Lord Etna back to level 1 and she insists on traveling with you until she regains her lost strength.
