
The player takes on the role of Aladdin, who must navigate through multiple levels inspired by locations from the film: beginning with the streets and rooftops of Agrabah, moving through the Cave of Wonders and the Sultan's dungeon, and culminating in a showdown at Grand Vizier Jafar's palace. The Sultan's guards and desert animals attempt to block Aladdin's progress. He can fight back using his sword or by hurling apples. In addition to apples, Aladdin can gather gems that can be exchanged for extra lives and continues via a wandering merchant. Discovering Genie or Abu icons triggers bonus rounds. The Genie bonus round is a game of chance where players can win apples, gems, or additional lives. In Abu's bonus round, the player takes control of the small monkey who must catch falling bonus items while avoiding obstacles like rocks and pots.
