DuckTales 2 is a platform video game created by Make Software and published by Capcom. It follows the original DuckTales, which is based on the Disney animated series of the same name. The game launched on the Nintendo Entertainment System in early 1993 and was later adapted for the Game Boy handheld in Japan and North America toward the end of that year. It was also featured in The Disney Afternoon Collection, a compilation released for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in April 2017.
At the start of the game, Huey rushes to his uncle Scrooge McDuck with a torn scrap of paper—a fragment of a treasure map drawn by Fergus McDuck. Determined to uncover the hidden riches left behind by Fergus, Scrooge launches a quest to recover the missing parts, not realizing that his longtime rival, Flintheart Glomgold, is also hunting for the legendary McDuck treasure. Scrooge journeys to Niagara Falls, a ghostly pirate ship in the Bermuda Triangle, the ancient city of Mu, Egypt, and Scotland. Each location holds a unique treasure protected by a powerful boss. After completing all five main stages, Webby is captured by Glomgold and taken hostage aboard the pirate ship in the Bermuda Triangle. Scrooge arrives and hands over the treasures to Glomgold, only to learn that this "Glomgold" is actually a shapeshifting robot known as the D-1000, designed specifically to eliminate him. Once the D-1000 is defeated, the real Glomgold attempts to sink the ship, trying to trap Scrooge and claim the treasures for himself.
