Dragon Ball 3: Goku-den is a role-playing video game exclusive to Japan, developed and published by Bandai. It serves as the third Dragon Ball title for the Famicom, following Dragon Ball: Shenron no Nazo and Dragon Ball: Daimaou Fukkatsu. The game is succeeded by Dragon Ball Z: Kyoushuu! Saiyan. In this game, you take control of Son Goku alongside his allies Krillin and Yamcha. The core gameplay revolves around training your characters and then sending them into battle against enemies to progress the story. Every action in the game, including exploring the world map, is carried out by selecting from a set of available cards. The value of each card determines how many spaces you can move, whether you gain an edge in combat, and more.
The mighty Demon King Piccolo, driven by his desire for world domination, views the “Tenkaichi Budokai”—a gathering of Earth's strongest fighters—as a threat and obliterates it. Determined to revive the “Tenkaichi Budokai,” Goku embarks on a quest to find the legendary Dragon Balls.
