Storyline
Chapter 1: Ragnar McRyan and the Disappearance of the Children Ragnar McRyan, a soldier stationed at the royal palace of Burland, is dispatched by the king to investigate the mysterious vanishing of children throughout the realm. He is joined on his quest by Healie. Chapter 2: Alena and the Path to the Tournament Alena, the Tsarevna of Zamoksva, sneaks away from the palace in an effort to reach the tournament being held at Endor Castle. She is guided by the priest Kiryl and the mage Borya. Chapter 3: Torneko and the Grand Expedition Torneko resides in Lakanaba with his wife and child, and works part-time at a local weapons shop. Driven by a desire to become the greatest merchant in the world, he departs from his home in pursuit of wealth and opportunity. Chapter 4: Meena and Maya and the Secret of Mahabala Maya, a skilled dancer, and her younger sister Meena, a gifted fortune teller, have departed from Monbaraba seeking revenge against Balzack, the treacherous apprentice of their late father. Chapter 5: The Chosen One The Hero was raised in a secluded, unnamed mountain village by its people. However, Psaro and his army destroy the village, leaving the Hero as the sole survivor. Determined to avenge his home, the Hero sets out to find his seven destined allies in order to confront Psaro and save the world. Chapter 6 Chapter 6 is not part of the main narrative of the game and contains post-game content. It was added in later remakes of Dragon Quest IV. This chapter includes an additional dungeon and the option to recruit Psaro into the player's party after fulfilling specific conditions.
