Summary
When Chase chooses to write a college paper on a past incident of mass hysteria in his childhood hometown of Echo, he seizes the chance to reunite his old circle of friends for the week. But the shadow of a shared tragedy looms over them, and the remote desert town teeters on the edge of chaos again in this moody, gradual-burn visual novel.
Storyline
Spring break brings Chase, a young otter who grew up in Echo, back to his hometown to work on a school project about a pivotal event from the 1870s that might have shaped the town as it is today. He’s joined by five childhood friends from Echo, all taking the opportunity to reconnect and relive old times. But as Chase delves deeper, he starts to see that their memories of the town might not be as perfect as they once seemed. Being back stirs up painful recollections and long-buried secrets that begin to strain the group’s once-solid bond. Meanwhile, Chase starts to suspect that Echo itself may be hiding something. The strange, unexplainable memories he always chalked up to a vivid childhood imagination might actually be real. Eventually, a triggering event makes his fears all too real and dangerous. Now, Chase must help his friends either confront or flee from the demons haunting them. But one thing is clear—Echo isn’t ready to let them leave.
