Evolution 2: Far Off Promise is a role-playing video game designed for the Dreamcast console. It follows the original Evolution: The World of Sacred Device and was developed by Sting, with Ubisoft handling its North American release. In Japan, the game was published by ESP (Entertainment Software Publishers). Evolution 2: Far Off Promise also reached the European market in 2002, becoming one of the final Dreamcast titles released there. In the United Kingdom, the game was available exclusively at the Game video game retailer. Similar to the first Evolution title, Evolution 2 is a dungeon crawler, but it introduces both randomized and fixed dungeon layouts, differing from its predecessor. Both Evolution 2: Far Off Promise and Evolution: The World of Sacred Device were later reimagined as Evolution Worlds for the Nintendo GameCube.
