F1 Circus is a top-down racing game set in the world of Formula 1 and serves as the inaugural title in Nihon Bussan's F1 Circus series. It originally launched on the PC Engine in 1990, and a revised version—partially inspired by its sequel, F1 Circus '91—was later released on the Famicom in 1992. Like all other titles in the series, it was never officially localized for North American or European audiences. The game features real-life Formula 1 drivers and teams, such as Nigel Mansell and Ferrari. Over time, the series would obtain the necessary licenses to continue using authentic names and branding from Formula 1.
