The tale starts with a man named Amachi finding the unconscious protagonist near a cliff. The protagonist awakens with no memory of who he is or how he got there. After recovering, he returns to the cliff and encounters a young girl named Ayumi Tachibana. Through her, he learns he is a detective's assistant investigating the murder of Kiku Ayashiro. He travels to the nearby Ayashiro estate in Myoujin village. The Ayashiro family has inherited a vast estate for generations, but the village is haunted by a chilling legend—those who try to steal the family's treasure will be killed by the dead who rise from the earth. As the protagonist digs into Kiku Ayashiro's death, he uncovers a horrifying link between the legend and a string of murders.
