Summary

Family Feud: 2012 Edition is a video game inspired by the popular TV show "Family Feud." It marks the first time a Family Feud game has been released for Xbox 360 and the third for Wii, developed by Ludia Inc. In Family Feud, 100 people were asked to respond to a variety of questions. Two families then compete by guessing the most popular answers. During each round, one member from each family steps onto the stage with the host to tackle a question. The player who buzzes in first gets to answer. If they don’t give the top answer, the other player can try. The player with the best answer then chooses to either "play" or "pass." If they choose to play, their family must guess all the remaining answers to win the round. If they pass, the other family gets the chance to find all the answers. Every incorrect guess results in a strike. After three strikes, the other family can attempt to steal the points by identifying one correct answer that hasn't already been mentioned. Once all rounds are complete, the family with the highest score moves on to "fast money." In "fast money," the player must answer five questions twice (or in multiplayer, two players each take a set of five questions). If they score 200 or more points in this round, they win $20,000! Family Feud: 2012 Edition features over 2000 survey questions, three difficulty settings (easy, medium, hard), a party mode supporting up to four players, bonus videos with Steve Harvey, and the ability to play as a custom avatar on Xbox 360 or a Mii on Wii. Challenge mode allows 1 to 4 players to team up against 16 unique families, each with their own themed setting (like a beach, a mansion, a spaceship, a prehistoric cave, a haunted house, a private yacht, a bowling alley, and more). Party mode lets 2 to 4 players go head-to-head. Kinect support was initially planned for the Xbox 360 version, but it was later removed because it didn’t enhance the gameplay experience. The game was then also released on Wii.
