Summary
Following the massive global success of the first game, EA created this sequel as an exclusive title for Sega's 16-bit console. The most noticeable change from FIFA International Soccer is the inclusion of dozens of club teams from England, France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands, the United States, Spain, and Brazil, bringing the total number of teams to more than 200. This expansion also led to an increase in the number of competitions, with each nation featuring its own League, Tournament, and Playoff. Another new addition was a battery backup system that let players save up to four competitions directly on the cartridge, doing away with the need for passwords. For those who prefer a quicker challenge, a Penalty Shootout training mode was introduced.
