Final Blaster is a vertical-scrolling shoot 'em up developed for the PC Engine. In the game, players join a squadron of fighter pilots tasked with defending Earth from an alien invasion. One of the standout features is the charge shot, which takes the form of a phoenix and is the only weapon capable of defeating certain large enemies. Another key aspect is the game's adaptive difficulty, which adjusts based on the number of power-ups collected at the end of a level or how frequently the player is destroyed. Exclusive to the PC Engine, Final Blaster was never released outside of Japan. It launched on the same day as W Ring: The Double Rings, another shoot 'em up that was also exclusive to the Japanese PC Engine market.
