Final Fantasy II: 20th Anniversary Edition

Summary

This version was launched on the PSP. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the original Japanese Final Fantasy, Square Enix released the 20th Anniversary collection for Sony's new PlayStation Portable handheld. The company made the most of the platform by restoring the original PlayStation version's FMV sequences, enhancing and enlarging the Dawn of Souls edition to fit the PSP's broader screen, and including a brand-new set of bonus dungeons called the Arcane Labyrinths for players looking for a tougher challenge.

Storyline

The Empire of Palamecia has set its sights on global domination. Its troops and Dark Knights terrorize the innocent, raze entire villages, and pursue courageous fighters. Fynn, the birthplace of four brave heroes, has now been reduced to ruins by this ruthless empire. Only four young warriors managed to flee—three men and one woman. As they journeyed toward the nearby town of Altair, they were ambushed by the Dark Knights. Three of the group were successfully escorted to safety in Altair by the rebel forces. But one remains missing.
