Summary
A PlayStation port of Final Fantasy VI featuring new opening and ending FMV cutscenes, along with various bonus content such as a bestiary and an artwork gallery accessible from the main menu. These extras are unlocked as the player advances through the game.
The version is largely identical to the Super Nintendo edition, with gameplay changes limited to renaming Vicks to Biggs, fixing a few bugs, and introducing a new "memo save" function that lets players save their progress quickly to PlayStation RAM. Due to the PlayStation's CD-ROM format, the game has longer loading times compared to its Super Nintendo counterpart.
In Japan, it was released both as a standalone title and as part of the Final Fantasy Collection. In North America, it was only available as part of the Final Fantasy Anthology, while in Europe it was sold exclusively as a standalone release.
