Storyline
Final Fantasy VII tells the story of mercenary Cloud Strife, who is recruited by the eco-terrorist group AVALANCHE, led by Barret Wallace, to battle the powerful Shinra Electric Power Company. Shinra seeks to exploit the planet's life energy for profit by draining its vital essence. At first indifferent to the cause, Cloud fights primarily for personal benefit and a promise he made to his childhood friend, Tifa Lockhart. As the story unfolds, he unites with a diverse group of allies to protect the planet from both Shinra's destruction and his archenemy, Sephiroth, ultimately finding a deeper purpose beyond his own interests.
