Storyline

Vana'diel is a realm where magic, steel, and technology converge. It is also a war-torn land where champions of light clash with creatures that dwell in shadow. At the heart of this conflict lies the struggle for control over the crystals—holy stones that form the very foundation of existence. The monsters spared no one, destroying peaceful towns, scarring the land, and poisoning the rivers and streams of Vana'diel. Yet, in the face of such devastation, the people banded together, driving back the beastmen and securing a hard-won reprieve from their desperate fight for survival. Two decades have passed since that great triumph. But even as the echoes of war grow faint, a new darkness stirs within Vana'diel... And it seeks the power of the crystals.
