Flash Point is a version of Tetris where the tetromino shapes and their rotations are the same as in Sega's Tetris. What sets it apart from a typical Tetris clone is its unique goal: each level begins with a pre-arranged pattern of blocks, often forming symbols, characters, or images. Hidden among these blocks are several bombs. The player's objective is to detonate these bombs by clearing the rows they occupy. When all bombs have been successfully exploded, the stage itself "blows up," allowing the player to move on to the next level.
